On Friday 14th August four juniors from Ferndown Golf Club were challenged to play as many holes as possible on the Championship Course in one day.
Starting at 6.30am the boys set off in pairs from the 1st and 9th tee for uninterrupted play until 8.00pm. The boys managed an impressive 100 holes each raising over £1,500 for Alzheimer’s Research UK and Pancreatic Cancer Research Fund. On-the-go refreshments were available all day to keep spirits up in the rain and Ferndown members supported the boys in the form of marshalls, trolley pullers and ball spotters. Some members were left penniless after sponsoring them all per hole played! Despite the weather it was a great day enjoyed by all.
Charlie Young, Junior Captain stated; “I took part in the event as I am committed to helping others and I feel it’s a good opportunity to show how the juniors would like to give something back to the Club and these very worthy causes.”
