We are proud to announce that Ferndown Golf Club has been awarded ‘Women In Golf Charter’ status by England Golf and the R&A, following the submission of a comprehensive proposal outlining our commitment to growing female participation in the sport at our Club.
We believe everyone in the golf community has a role in fostering a culture that values women’s involvement in all aspects of the game—from participation to career development. Our ambition is to increase the number of women and girls playing and working in golf and to achieve this, we recognise the need for a significant cultural shift. The ethical case for change is clear, and the economic benefits of growing the sport through greater female involvement are substantial.
By signing this Charter, Ferndown Golf Club is committed to creating a more welcoming and inspiring environment for women. We will focus on attracting more women to golf, ensuring they feel supported to stay engaged, and providing opportunities for them to thrive in rewarding careers within the sport. We are dedicated to playing our part in this vital movement and working with the wider golf community to drive meaningful progress.
