Ferndown Alliss Charity

From its inception in 1987 as Alliss Manitou, it became Alliss Merlo and Salterns Alliss Merlo, raising money under the Peter Alliss Wheelchair Crusade, until the Club registered it with the Charities Committee in 2023.
Since we began, we have donated over £1.5 million worth of wheelchairs, walking aids and specialist equipment such as Sensory rooms, hoists, classroom chairs and have/ continue to work alongside 5 local schools, specialising in caring for children with severe disabilities at:
- Victoria School in Branksome
- Langside School in Wallisdown
- Beaucroft College in Wimborne
- Linwood School in Winton
- Montacute school in Canford Heath
In 2023, we were also able to provide a Variety Sunshine Coach which we donated to Montacute School in Poole to assist them in their day to day activities.
In addition to working with our local schools, we also support our Club Captains and have donated over £430,000 to our own Captains’ Charities, with last year's money going to the Lexi May Trust.
